This class will use multiple weapons to explore and understand more deeply the universal fencing principles used with the sword in two hands. Each day’s section will focus on one weapon, progressing from the dagger through the sword to the spear. Upon completion of each of the weapon sections the representative actions will also be applied using the sword in two hands. Students completing the class will have a clearer understanding of the expanded possibilities for use of the sword in two hands by applying principles from the entire art to its use. Entries and actions used will be exemplars of the universal art taken directly from Fiore dei Liberi’s Fior di Bataglia. Students should wear comfortable clothing. All actions will be executed with control and at the instructor’s direction.
